Have you seen dafont.com? If you’ve ever wanted to type something and the fonts that come with your copy of Microsoft Office just don’t cut it for you any more, it’s time you check out dafont!
There are 71 different styles organized into 9 different themes ranging from basic and fancy to techno and dingbat. My personal favorite is the script theme with tons of custom “handwritten” fonts. Everything is user created and contributed and available for free download and use, as long as it’s not for commercial use and even then, many contributors ask only that you make some size donation via paypal in exchange for their permission to use any way you want.
Some other neat features of the site include listings of font tools and programs that include font management, font conversion and font creation including a description of all and a screen-shot of many. There is even a link to bulk dafont collection torrent files in the faq… share and share alike I suppose. If you ever find yourself creating fonts and want to share them with the rest of the world, you can even create an account and submit your own fonts. Did I mention you can download any font on the site without creating an account or sharing any personal information.
The next time you’re looking to be a little creative and Times New Roman just isn’t doing it for you, check out dafont.com!
